The Tamaracks Resort is a rustic chic Montana resort nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in North Western Montana. With 30+ acres on the north shores of Seeley Lake, this beautiful woodland resort offers 17 individual cabins, 3 pop up camp sites, 10 RV spots and 2 tent areas. With a total resort occupancy of up to 150 guests we decided to add a couple more items to our list of services. Which will include (but is not limited to) live music, art classes, fly tying etc.


Our events and sales department is hiring for the Special Events Team. Candidates chosen, are to work together to ensure the success of Resort events by organizing and implementing events, while serving as the liaison for musicians, artists and teachers to provide amazing "extras" for our guests and be profitable from off property participants. 20% of the filled positions are offered annually and 80% are seasonal.


brief job description

  • Contribute in the communication, planning details and coordination of all aspects of special events,      including attending meetings and creating appropriate memos; private: weddings, reunions, retreats or public: live music, holiday parties, archery shoots etc.

  • Create itineraries for groups on site from menu/food options, activities, rentals and spa visits. Include    site planning to ensure the experience of the clients and guests exceeds their expectations and creates a personalized memorable experience.

  • Manage special events from time of booking to remote and onsite planning and through execution of the event, including billing and departure.

  • Produce accurate Group/Event Profiles that document all aspects of an event, including food options    and reserving the tent, creating meeting schedules, client profiles, rooming lists, decor needs, specialty room drops and billing, as well as other pertinent information applicable by department.

  • Schedule staff according to volume of business, understand how to flex when necessary to meet labor expectations and adjust daily operations to be in line with the budget.

  • Manage recruiting, hiring, training and growing exceptional team members.

  • Maintain flexible hours to accommodate guest and special-event needs; due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, position requires full availability including evenings, weekends, holidays or as    needed.

  • Manage and coordinate meetings, conferences, large family vacations, in-house sponsored events,      holiday events or other special events with accuracy and detailed communication.  

  • Schedule regular meetings following special events to assess successes and areas where                  improvements can be made for future events.

  • Recruit, hire, train and develop exceptional Special Events team members.

Skill Set & Desired interest

  • Experience in hospitality or business degree, training or job-related course work

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Valid Driver’s License or identification, f driving a company vehicle you must meet company driving      policy

  • Knowledge of management, hospitality and service 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to lead and manage a team

  • Positive attitude

Wage: $12.00/hr.; plus $3.00/hr. bonus opportunities
